Small steps: searching for a vaccination for cancer
A ‘cancer vaccine’ developed at Stanford University School of Medicine can cure cancer in mice. The vaccine was developed by a team lead by Idit Sagiv Barfi and Ronald Levy, et al. An article detailing the study was published on January 31st, 2018, published on Science Translational Medicine.

The vaccine was developed and tested using laboratory mice and works by applying two different immune-stimulating agents (antibodies and a special kind of DNA), never used together before, directly into the tumor. It can eliminate the tumor as well as other tumors at a distance, and it also can prevent new tumors from growing.
The vaccine has inspired a new phase of clinical trials, this time to be tested in humans. More information soon to follow.
