The hurricane Maria struck land near Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, as a powerful Category 4 Storm(Now category 5 with winds of 155 miles per hour). In its transit through Dominica, it caused widespread destruction, including the house of the Prime Minister, who had to be rescued and who declared a state of devastation on the island. Irma remains a Category 5 hurricane, with winds of 295 kilometers per hour and heavy rain that makes it, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) of the United States, an "extremely dangerous" which has put the entire region on alert.
Irma is the most intense hurricane formed in the Atlantic since Allen, which in 1980 reached maximum sustained winds of over 300 kilometers per hour. Irma now has winds of 330 kilometers per hour
