Sinkhole and Floods in Querétaro

Last September, a bus dropped into one of two sinkholes that opened into the side lanes of Paseo de la República Avenue, with no reported injuries. Aldo municipal authorities informed about 21 neighbourhoods in Querétaro that got affected by the floods. Derived from the torrential rains that were registered in the capital on raining days (Tuesday night) and early this Wednesday, a sinkhole was opened in Prolongación Camelinas avenue, meters away from Paseo de la Republica and in front of the mall Antea where a transporting truck got trapped, as well as a cab.

Some witnesses indicated that the truck came to pick up workers, but suddenly the Azteca Board began to draw water, the force of the water current dragged the material of foundation, which caused that the pavement collapse when the track and the cab were passing by.

The death of one person was unfortunately also confirmed, who was dragged by water. The corpse was later found in Access III of the Benito Juárez Industrial Zone of Queretaro.

All of the above was informed by the mayor Marcos Aguilar Vega.
